What is the BEST system?
The Bio-Energetic Stress Test (BEST), also known as electro-dermal screening, biomeridian stress test, or Meridian Stress Assessment (MSA) , is a non-invasive and painless testing tool that measures electrical conductivity through pressure on acupuncture points on the hands and feet. The BEST system consists of more than 30,000 items in a continually updated database. From this large database we test for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, food and environmental sensitivities along with heavy metal toxicity. We also test all the major organs and glands of the body to get an overall picture of the body health at this time. ALL THE TESTING IS NON-INVASIVE (no needles/blood work and no electrical shocks or pulsates).
How does it work?
There are two cables coming out of the BEST, one positive and one negative. The positive cable is attached to a stylus with an electrode on the tip. The patient holds the negative cable, which has another electrode, attached to the end. Using the stylus the Dr. Marija will press it against the different acupuncture points on the hands and feet, which creates a closed circuit for the electrical energy to travel. The BEST system then measures how much energy passes though the circuit. The computer records if stress values are above or below equilibrium at a given point.
History
In the early 1950s, Dr. Reinhold Voll, a German medical doctor, developed an electronic testing device for finding acupuncture points electrically. Dr. Voll discovered that certain acupuncture points showed abnormal readings when subjects were reacting allergically. He discovered that the glass bottle of medicine could change the readings when it was in contact anywhere along the closed electric circuit involved with the testing procedure. Voll was successful in identifying many acupuncture points related to specific conditions and published a great deal of information about using acupuncture points diagnostically.
